We all want to stay young and beautiful forever. And even though we know that isn’t possible, a few skincare treatments can help — like Botox.
Unfortunately, there are many misconceptions surrounding Botox treatments. “Is it toxic?” “Will I look frozen?” “Are treatments painful?” Keep reading to find out more!
Myth #1: Botox is toxic
Despite popular belief, Botox isn’t harmful. It’s a neurotoxin derived from Clostridium botulinum, which is found in the natural, non-toxic environment.
Myth #2: Botox will make me look “frozen.”
If you walk out of your doctor’s office with an expressionless look, you were treated with an overdose of Botox. An experienced injector (like NuWave Medical Center) will make you look natural and not “frozen.”
Myth #3: Botox can erase all of my wrinkles.
There are two types of wrinkles: Dynamic and static wrinkles. Botox treats dynamic wrinkles, developed from facial muscular movement, by relaxing the muscle. Botox does not treat static wrinkles, which are a result of aging and sun exposure.
Myth #4: Botox injections are painful.
Botox treatments are quick and have little to no downtime. You will feel a slight sting during the injection, but any pain you may experience afterward is completely manageable since the needles are very fine.
